Scaling Up Microfinance
Supported by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s CDFI Fund
In January and February 2013, OFN hosted Scaling Up Microfinance trainings in New York, San Francisco, and Atlanta. Over 80 participants from Microfinance CDFIs attended the advanced two-day trainings which are a part of the CDFI Fund’s Capacity Building Initiative. The trainings allowed loan funds and community development credit unions involved in microfinance to explore creative ways to build innovative business models, create new products, use cutting-edge technology to improve efficiency and performance, and develop human capital resources to effectively meet the financial needs of more individuals in the US.
Technical Assistance Webinars
OFN is offering a series of ten free technical assistance webinars from April to October 2013. All CDFIs and CDFI partners interested in scaling microfinance are invited to attend. The technical assistance webinars will provide microfinance CDFIs with best practices and tools they can use to analyze their own business practices and determine appropriate strategies to scale.
Register for upcoming Scaling Up Microfinance webinars.
Materials from the training will be available on the CDFI Fund’s Virtual Resource Bank along with other key resources related to scaling microfinance in the United States.
