 Overview
Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) is pleased to partner with Starbucks on the Create Jobs for USA Fund, a new initiative that creates and sustains jobs across the U.S. by providing grants to community development financial institutions (CDFIs) that lend to Community Businesses.
The Create Jobs for USA Fund mobilizes donations from individuals, the Starbucks Foundation, and other institutions to provide capital grants to nonprofit CDFIs that lend to Community Businesses—an array of commercial activity that creates and preserves jobs in low-income, low-wealth, and other disadvantaged communities including small businesses, microenterprises, nonprofits, commercial real estate developers, and affordable housing developers.
Nonprofit OFN Members, including credit unions, may apply for grants from the Create Jobs for USA Fund. Grants are expected to be up to $500,000, based on the CDFI’s asset size and pipeline of Community Business loans.
Grants must be used to lend to Community Businesses that create and retain jobs. Grants cannot be used to fund a CDFI’s operations, including loan loss reserve expense.
Apply for a grant from the Create Jobs for USA Fund to:
Access a new source of grant funding in a challenging fundraising environment
Align your organization with a national movement that is making “CDFI” a household term
Use grant funding to support new lending and expand job creation and preservation
