Background:
Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) is the leading national network of private community development financial institutions (CDFI's) which create economic growth in low-income and low-wealth communities across the US. OFN's core purpose is to align capital with social, economic and political justice. Its mission is to lead the opportunity finance system to scale through capital formation, policy, and capacity development.
Position Summary:
OFN is seeking a seasoned financial leader to expand its products and to increase the scale of its financing to better serve the rapidly growing CDFI market. The OFN Board has made it a priority to expand its financing substantially using new products and approaches. OFN also leads CDFI industry policy efforts and industry training and consulting.
Responsiblities
The primary responsibilities include business development, capitalization, and financing strategy. The work involves close coordination with others financing CDFIs, including banks, non-bank financial institutions, foundations, faith-based institutions, and socially motivated investors.. The EVP, Financial Services, oversees sourcing and origination of CDFI transactions. OFN is the leading national CDFI network, including loan funds, banks, credit unions, and equity funds. The EVP, Financial Services, will:
- Deliver high-value financing to CDFIs
- Develop and deliver new financing strategies, products, services and systems
- Manage investor risk through active and experienced fund management
- Harness opportunities and respond to the challenges of the evolving financial markets
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a creative and experienced financial executive skilled at serving financial institutions. Experience working with CDFIs is beneficial but not required. EVP candidates should have a minimum of 15 years of increasingly responsible experience in credit risk management, direct lending and loan processing, underwriting, and business development. Experience with CDFIs and/or community investing is valuable. Preferred candidates will bring an entrepreneurial approach to lending and experience in managing a line of business. OFN is based in Philadelphia, PA.
