2011 Annual Conference
Donna Gambrell’s Speech
Donna Gambrell is the Director of the US Department of Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund), which expands the capacity of financial institutions to provide credit, capital, and financial services to underserved populations and communities in the United States. At Thursday’s Conference-wide luncheon Donna spoke about new records achieved by the CDFI Fund in 2011—making the largest single round of monetary awards in their history, and reaching the highest the number of certified CDFIs—as well as new initiatives, including the capacity-building initiative. She also urged CDFIs to take action, “Each of you must be more committed than ever to exploring new ways to expand your impact. And you must be more committed than ever to telling your stories and communicating your impact to a wider audience.”
The CDFI Fund has posted the text of her speech on their Web site.
