Impact Photo Album—Telling the CDFI Story
Recently, we invited CDFIs to show us their impact by submitting images that we might use in the Conference brochure, on our Web site, and at the 2011 Opportunity Finance Network Conference.
The image and story chosen for the Conference brochure cover this year was submitted by OFN Member Community First Fund. The picture is of Mario Asencio, owner of Conquistador Oil which supplies heating oil to residents throughout Lancaster County, PA. Many of his clients rely on financial aid to heat their homes. Though Mario had trouble finding financing in the beginning, a loan from Community First Fund enabled him to provide the essential services his customers require and to expand his business into neighboring Lebanon County. Small businesses like Conquistador Oil, and the CDFI lenders like CFF that support them, contribute to the growth and well-being of the communities that depend on them and sustain vital local economies.
